I have to confess that I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself today. Somehow between yesterday morning and afternoon I managed to come down with a fairly bad case of the flu. Not that I'm on death's doorstep or anywhere near, but it's just bad enough to be very annoying and uncomfortable. I'm being a total hypochondriac when I say this, but right now I'm thinking it would be nice to be a character in a Jane Austin novel so I could gently swoon off into a canopied bed, and have someone wipe my feverish brow and read to me:) Okay, my brow is not that feverish but I'm sure you get the general idea.
Since I haven't done a decor post for a while, I've decided to share some images of my various dream scenarios. Have a great weekend.
This has to be the most awesome bathroom I've ever seen -can you imagine how amazing it must be to lie in that bath taking in the scenery and the open air.

The city awakens around me, I close my windows to keep it out.
I'm absolutely loving the work of photographer Eugenio Recuenco, especially this editorial. There are lots more gorgeous editorials on his website, all rich, deeply textured works of imagination. I'm not generally into things that are Gothic, but I love the medieval connotations of this editorial. I'm a huge fan of good medieval historical fiction, and am fascinated by that period of history.

The sky is so blue today, and so very far away
For me, here, today is an amazingly quiet day, peaceful, winter shadows, even the light seems to echo. I am happy. At home. Alone. I enjoy my own company perhaps too much? It's okay. Maybe I am coming to terms with who I am. Although I do enjoy going out and being sociable at times, my reality is that I prefer to be alone, in my house, with the things I like, my animals (2 dogs and a cat) and the things that keep me occupied, and mentally stimulated. I spend my days alone, and in the evening my boyfriend comes home to me, we have dinner, we talk, we watch TV, we love. I hate it when the telephone rings, it seems like an intrusion into my safe little bubble.

Only when I lose myself
Although it's cold it's nice and sunny today, not a cloud in the sky so I'm happy about that. I'm on holiday this week...yay....I'll be at home but lots to do around here. Our house is going on show on Sunday, we're trying to sell it, so there is lots of tidying up and fixing up to be done. All the major stuff is done, but it's an excuse to go through cupboards and get rid of junk.
I hope every one has a great week.
